Hello. I'm pleased to meet you.
Growing up, I split my time between my mothers in Long Beach, California, and my father in Holon, Israel, and I consider both countries home. I was honored to serve congregations as a senior rabbi in Coral Springs, FL; as a rabbi-educator in Sacramento, CA; and as a student rabbi in Marion, IN; Richmond, IN, and Mattoon, IL. Currently I reside in southern California and serve the Los Angeles, Long Beach and Orange County communities, serving as a spiritual counselor, officiating at life-cycle events, and teaching classes to youth and adults in local synagogues. I am also faculty for the Union for Reform Judaism's online Introduction to Judaism program, and I meet, learn and grow with students from all over the United States, Canada and Mexico.
A recipient of numerous Education awards, my writings on spirituality, inclusion and Jewish parenting have appeared in various publications including the Jewish Community Chronicle, the book The Sacred Encounter: Jewish Perspectives on Sexuality, the science blog Sinai and Synapses, and the CCAR [Central Conference of American Rabbis] Journal. I was ordained and hold a M.A. in Hebrew Letters from the Reform Jewish seminary, Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati, and earned a M.A. in Philosophy from Cal State Long Beach, and a B.A. in English and Philosophy from Whittier College.
My husband and I have a nonbinary high schooler and teen and tween sons, and I spend my free time chauffeuring, endlessly grocery shopping, and reading historical fiction.
